Paul Offit, Top U.S. Vaccine Doc, Misrepresents His Credentials

Paul-offit.com

CBS News has called vaccine developer Dr. Paul Offit one of “the most trusted voices in the defense of vaccine safety”. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has called him the vaccine industry’s “principle spokesperson”.

But what about Offit’s official title? His personal website, his Wikipedia page, his linkedin profile, his Autism Science Foundation bio, a new medical textbook he co-edited and an endless array of both mainstream and social media sites state that he is the “Chief of Infectious Diseases” at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). There’s just one problem: he’s not, nor has he been for the last three years.

According to CHOP’s website, Offit has been demoted from “Chief” to “attending physician.” It also clearly shows the role of “Chief” belonging to someone else. Yet Offit’s bio on both the homepage and “About” page of his own website call him “Chief of the Division of Infectious Diseases” at CHOP, as does his resume linked from his homepage. How long has he misrepresented himself? Dig deep enough, and the story comes to light.

Buried in his second resume – a 32-page CV downloadable from his website -Offit is listed as “Chief, Division of Infectious Diseases, The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia” for the years 1992-2014. That means Paul Offit knowingly misleads visitors to his site about his current role at CHOP. Few would find the news of his demotion buried in his CV, but virtually everyone visiting his site would see his bios prominently misidentifying him as “Chief of Infectious Diseases at CHOP.”

Even worse, the creation date of his CV is November 21st, 2016. That means that for more than two years after he lost his title, there was absolutely nothing on his site that contradicted his bio falsely stating his CHOP role. Archived webpages show that the title of “Chief” was the very first title listed in Offit’s “About” bio on his website. Then in early-2015, Offit temporarily removed the “Chief” title from his “About” page bio (his homepage bio never changed). But then sometime in late 2016 or early 2017, he added the title “chief” back into his “About” bio where it remains as of this writing.

The implications of Offit’s fabrication are far-reaching. Reports falsely saying Offit is the “Chief” of infectious disease at CHOP continue to be cranked out: CBS NewsNBC NewsCNNThe New YorkerThe Washington PostPBS FRONTLINEThe LA TimesThe Philadelphia InquirerScientific AmericanC-SPANForbesAlterNetThe Daily BeastThe Huffington Post and Politico to name a few of dozens.

Several times, Offit was introduced on video with his former title of “Chief of Infectious Diseases,” yet he did not correct the people introducing him. When the president of the College of Physicians of Philadelphia introduced Offit as “Chief of Infectious Diseases” on C-SPAN2 in 2015, Offit simply said “Thank you for that kind introduction.”

He did not react the same way, however, when he had to sit right next to the moderator for Scientific American who stated Offit’s false credentials, just prior to his talk as part of a videotaped lecture series. That time, he was visibly uncomfortable being introduced as “Chief,” and even struggled to get words out initially when it was his turn to speak. But just as with the C-SPAN video, Offit failed to correct the person who introduced him.

The misrepresentations have continued as recently as last summer. In an article for STAT News dated August 21st, 2017, Offit was described as the “head of infectious diseases at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.” Offit still has not corrected anyone and why would he? He has gotten away with it for three years.

What he has gotten away with for much longer, however, has been his unchallenged misrepresentations about vaccine dangers and the media’s culpability. He relies on studies he privately admitted were garbage to declare the debate on vaccine safety over. To deny that vaccines cause autism, he actually claims that autism diagnoses cause children to be vaccinated. And of course he has infamously stated that an infant can safely handle 10,000 vaccines, later upping the number to “closer to 100,000.”

One of the big ways Offit has been able to lie with such impunity about vaccine dangers has been to flaunt his supposedly impeccable credentials. Perhaps that’s why he lied about being the “Chief” of infectious diseases at CHOP long after he wasn’t.

Credentials, not integrity, are all that matter in Offit’s world. They matter so much that it’s even worth lying to claim credentials he no longer has.

Crooked Hillary – Trump’s Vaccine Safety “Dangerous”

trumpthatbitch

My opponent in this race has consistently discounted scientific findings, from his comments about vaccines to his claim that climate change is a hoax. These dangerous positions not only put Americans at risk, but can have long term impacts on our country’s growth and productivity. – Crooked Hillary Clinton, Scientific AmericanSeptember, 13, 2016

Crooked Hillary Clinton has evoked the same language used by “journalists”, “scientists” and the government to excuse the ongoing cover-up of vaccine dangers and poisoning of babies and even said she would explicitly work with those implicated in the scandal to help it continue. However, it is hardly surprising coming from a candidate who would lie about anything and who would do it to anyone – from lying that she did not put the country’s security at risk, to lying to relatives of Americans murdered by terrorists, to covering up her husband’s abuse of women, to crookedly managing her family’s fake charity, to making the disgraced ex-DNC chair her “honorary campaign manager” and finally to lying about her own health. Although it was hilarious to watch her fall nearly flat on her face and then get dragged into a van, it goes to show just how far she will go to hide something as fundamental as her own sickness from the American people.

Meanwhile, she touts her sham “autism plan” that cites junked statistics to waste money on a study attempting to disprove the autism epidemic. Her foundation also takes millions in Saudi money despite the fact that that country imprisons autism parents for speaking out against the state’s neglect of children with autism. Worst of all, however, is the fact that she is intent on ensuring that the criminal activity of the federal vaccine program remains hidden from the public. In the same post at the Scientific American where she called Trump’s vaccine position “dangerous” (virtually every major “science” publication is now just a corporate front), she promised she would assist the Department of Health and Human Services in their ongoing lies and even congratulated them for doing such a good job of lying:

“As president, I will work closely with the talented physicians, nurses, and scientists in our US Public Health Service to speak out and educate parents about vaccines, focusing on their extraordinary track record in saving lives and pointing out the dangers of not vaccinating our children. ”

And yet, that will just be one of many scandals to her name. When many of the people close to her who have damaging information about her and her husband somehow wind up dead, it is pretty unsurprising that she will prolong the vaccine cover-up. Just after President Obama said that aren’t reasons to not get vaccinated, she sent out a tweet belittling any skepticism of vaccinations. She ultimately has him to thank for why she was not indicted for her criminal handling of classified material, and she has the pharmaceutical industry to thank for such generous campaign contributions. Crooked Hillary has also taken plenty of money from cell phone company-turned-pharmaceutical client Verizon, which now owns Huffington Post where articles both about vaccine dangers and her failing health have been deleted.

Crooked Hillary Clinton is a criminal, liar and deserves no respect regardless of how the upcoming election goes. Yet the Age of Autism blog which claims to support vaccine safety supports Crooked Hillary and posted a puff piece about the Democratic National Convention: “As a life-long Democrat, I was proud to watch the Democratic National Convention.  Hillary Clinton and its other impressive speakers were eloquent, optimistic and inspiring.” Age of Autism’s editor just recently said: “Just a friendly reminder, dear readers, that all voices are welcome here, including lifelong Democrats and those who think that given the options a vote for Hillary Clinton is a reasonable decision. Yours in choice, Dan.” Age of Autism – sponsored and edited by a man who is a mole for the vaccine lobby – should be shut down after these remarks. So too should groups run by the same people such as Canary Party (Cuckservative Party) and Health Choice.

Until the government does an honest job of regulating vaccines for safety and nothing else, the problem won’t just be mercury in vaccines, or the measles-mumps-rubella vaccine or even multiple vaccines at once – the problem will just be vaccines. Complete opposition to and rejection of vaccines should only continue until such time, which may not be for the foreseeable future. But only a vote for Donald Trump is a reasonable choice for ending this nightmare. Anyone who suggests otherwise is just operating for the iatrogenic vaccine lobby. So to Nico LaHood, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Rob Schneider and any other liberal-leaning person who cares about this issue as it relates to the outcome of this election – get on the Trump Train!

Update: Robert De Niro is also more than welcome to board.

Herd Immunity is a Myth, Just Ask Crooked Hillary

The science is clear: The earth is round, the sky is blue, and . Let’s protect all our kids.  – Crooked Hillary Clinton, Twitter, February 2, 2015

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends all adults over 65 receive a pneumococcal vaccine to prevent pneumonia. Yet shortly after collapsing during an early exit from a 9/11 memorial gathering over what her campaign blamed on the illness, 68-year old Crooked Hillary Clinton was photographed hugging a young girl. Despite her proclaiming that “#vaccineswork”, the pneumonia vaccine obviously did not work for her in that instance assuming she even followed the CDC’s advice as she wanted everybody else to do. And after mocking and belittling skepticism of vaccines for which the federal government routinely lies about their safety, Crooked Hillary and her security detail did not care to protect a small child from her “pneumonia”. Assuming her campaign is even telling the truth about her diagnosis, she obviously does not practice the “herd immunity” myth used to justify vaccine policy on the basis of limiting the spread of an infectious disease. Yet the truth is the polar opposite of what she says on many issues, and her health is likely no exception.

Evidence of her ill health has been mounting throughout the course of her campaign. Bizarre facial expressions, spontaneous body spasms, coughing fits, bathroom breaks, an ambulance following her motorcade, a strange lesion on her tongue, long naps, and short speeches have all been noticed by journalists though played down in mainstream media. An article that linked to a viral video about her poor health was ripped down from Huffington Post and the journalist banned from contributing in much the same way as what happened with vaccine stories posted and then taken down over there. A well-known television doctor lost his show on CNN’s sister channel for expressing skepticism about both her health and her healthcare. And of course, vaccine shill David Gorski has hopped on the bandwagon of declaring Crooked Hillary’s health as off-limits as vaccine safety while targeting other bloggers and doctors in the process.

Welcome to the new media climate, where you can have your documentary pulled from a major film festival out of pressure from people who largely had not even seen it. You can also be permanently banned from a popular social media platform for writing a negative review of a movie you actually took the time to go and see. Nothing is surprising anymore. If there is policing of our thoughts on certain films, you can bet there would be policing of our thoughts on presidential candidates.

Indeed the below film of Crooked Hillary’s epic collapse was the target of failed suppression-attempts, but is nonetheless online for all to see. So watch the below video of her “pneumonia” collapse with amusement at all the poetic justice it has to offer, and then share it with everyone you know.

Trump Backs Vaccine Safety, Calls Other Candidates “Bought”

478c50db-c48e-4802-a962-6c8e48a213cb-large16x9_Donald_Trump

A recent interview further highlights why Autism Investigated endorses Donald Trump for President. On April 3rd, investigative journalist Sharyl Attkisson sat down with the Republican presidential front-runner. In that interview, he said,”there could be something to the theory that these massive doses that are given to children have an impact on autism” and that “we have to be very, very careful with vaccines.” He also said the other candidates are “controlled by special interests” and “bought off with campaign contributions.” As of March 21st, pharmaceutical manufacturers have given $215,477 to Hillary Clinton, $64,175 to Bernie Sanders, $63,018 to Ted Cruz, $7,625 to John Kasich despite being dead last and a measly $531 to Donald Trump.

Trump on Vaccines and Viewer Questions

Trump fielded a number of viewer questions during “Full Measure’s” Sunday sit-down. He was asked about his views on vaccinations, advice he gave to his children, advice he ignored from his children, mis-characterizations from the media and, simply, why he would make the best choice for president.

What’s your position on freedom of choice regarding various vaccines that could be dangerous for some children and why is the mere discussion of making vaccines safe censored?

“It’s the most unbelievable discussion I’ve ever been involved in. If you say anything about vaccines that is slightly like holding back the hate mail, the level of vitriol, it’s incredible when you see it. First of all, I’m a big believer in vaccines. But there could be something to the theory that these massive doses that are given to children have an impact on autism. There could be something to it. Now some people say no, some people say yes, I’d like to see studies. The bottom line is they have to get vaccinated. When I was going to school as a young guy, polio was a really big problem and vaccines knocked it out. So the vaccines are very important, but we have to study the vaccines and we have to be very, very careful with vaccines.”

What’s some of the most important advice you’ve given your kids?

“That’s an easy question. No alcohol. No drugs. No cigarettes.”

Is there advice you’ve been given sometime that you wish you would’ve taken that you didn’t take?

“Well, Ivanka [my daughter] and my wife Melania will say ‘now be presidential,’ because sometimes I’ll hit back very hard and it doesn’t sound presidential. But my retort to that is, if I didn’t, you know I started off with [17 Republican challengers] and we have two left. I have two left. And frankly, if I didn’t hit hard I think you’d be interviewing probably somebody else.”

What mis-characterizations has the media saddled you with?

“I think I’m a very nice person. I love people. I like to help people. And I think the media makes me look like a mean person. And I think I’m a nice person. I love people. I love to help people.”

Why do you think you should be elected president?

“Because I can do the best job. I’m the only one that will make America great again. I know the other candidates. They’ll never bring us to the promise land. They’ll never make great trade deals. They’ll never great with the military. They’re controlled by special interests. I’m not. Again, I’m not taking money from anybody. If I don’t win. I really see a lot of problems for the country. There’s some many problems for the country that a politician, number one, can’t solve, and number two, won’t solve because they’re bought off with campaign contributions.”

Contrast the above to what other candidates have said about vaccines, like what Democrat front-runner Hillary Clinton ($215,477 from pharma) tweeted:

The science is clear: The earth is round, the sky is blue, and #vaccineswork. Let’s protect all our kids. #GrandmothersKnowBest

Ted Cruz ($63,018 from pharma), Trump’s main primary rival, told USA Today:

Of course children should be vaccinated, this issue is largely silliness stirred up by the media.

John Kasich ($7,625 from pharma) told Ohio’s Dayton Daily News:

You have to get vaccinated. This is not a choice. Are you kidding me?

The socialist and far-left extremist Bernie Sanders ($64,175 from pharma) who’s entire platform is more intrusive government like the corrupt vaccine program is the worst candidate of them all. In fact, he is the only candidate who actually criticized Trump for his stance on vaccines in an MSNBC interview with Rachel Maddow following the September GOP debate:

I think the evidence is overwhelming that vaccines do not cause autism. And it really is a little bit weird for Trump – who, I presume, has no medical background – to be raising this issue. And obviously it is a concern. When somebody like that says it, you’re gonna find thousands of people now who are gonna hesitate to give their kids the shots, and bad things may happen.

Yet Age of Autism’s managing editor was dumb enough to describe Sanders as “a chink in the armor of the status quo” of censorship, even though he openly supports censoring discussion of vaccine dangers. AoA has also praised Hillary’s “autism plan” with the vaccine debate-censoring Huffington Post and even expressed a desire to work with her. Worst of all, AoA has trashed Trump – repeatedly. They are guilty of continuously misinforming their readers about where the candidates stand on this issue, even though the right choice in this presidential race is more obvious than ever. If the issue of vaccine safety is an important enough issue to make or break a vote for any particular candidate, then the only candidate who deserves the vote is Donald Trump.

Threats Prove Cartoonist Right About Vaccine McCarthyism

Editor’s Note: After two years, The Epoch Times’ blog section is now closed as the site is undergoing a redesign. All Epoch Blogs from Autism Investigated are still archived. There is exciting news to come about The Epoch Times pertaining to Autism Investigated.

By Jake Crosby

Above is a cartoon originally published on DailyKos by Keith Knight, author of the K Chronicles. Knight drew the above cartoon to bring attention to what he called the “New McCarthyism” – the hypocrisy and double-standard surrounding discussions about vaccines.

As anyone could have predicted, the thread was soon awash in nasty comments including threats so bad he eventually caved and removed the whole cartoon – proving Knight right about Vaccine McCarthyism.

“I took it down myself. A few comments crossed the line with me, so I took it down,” he reportedly said of the cartoon. “I can take the personal threats…but once it goes beyond that — ”

Making clear how inflammatory the vaccine issue was even when compared to other inflammatory subjects, he said:

“I may do a follow-up at some point, but for now I’ll stick to less inflammatory subjects like abortion, Israel/Palestine, and gun control.”

Abortion clinics have been bombed, a member of Israeli parliament has been called a “war criminal” at an academic panel discussion, and the National Rifle Association’s famous slogan is “I’ll give you my gun when you pry it from my cold, dead hands. Yet in Knight’s own experience, the vaccine issue is even more inflammatory than these other inflammatory issues.

The Daily Cartoonist weighed in on the situation with the following commentary:

“Expressing unpopular opinion is not for everyone. Side affects vary but may include pissing off people who think of themselves as tolerant, inflaming internet comment sections or receiving unwanted threats to oneself or family.”

Such threats were apparently fair game to one blogger who deeply despised Knight’s cartoon:

“The only heartening bit is how most of the commenters contribute to giving Knight a new sphincter.”

Direct those same kinds of threats at that very blogger, and watch the incitement turn to self-pity.

While the DailyKos took no apparent action against the trolls making the threats before the entire post was taken down, it has its own unique style of censorship like those of other left-wing, big government sites. The Huffington Post enforces censorship by removing articles without any explanation or warning. “Throwing a writer to the wolves” is what Salon did by retracting Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s “Deadly Immunity” article, according to the site’s own founder. But the preferred method of censorship at DailyKos is banning any commenter who argues vaccines cause autism.

If DailyKos was not directly involved in the removal of the post or even in the incitement of trolls (both of which I have a hard time believing), the site certainly created the perfect environment for the New McCarthyism Knight denounced to take root by banning people who would otherwise support him in the comment thread. Unlike at DailyKos, expressing different views will not get anyone banned from commenting at Autism Investigated; making threats will get a commenter banned.

So the cartoon is now posted here, and is here to stay.

Addendum: After one commenter’s reported experience with having comments censored at DailyKos, a decision has been made to not allow any comments that link to that site. If DailyKos will shut down discussion about topics routinely discussed here, then there is no reason to link any readers to that site only to be banned from commenting. Unless DailyKos overturns its policy of censorship, any submitted comment that links to DailyKos will be deleted. No exceptions.

Read HuffPost-Censored “Trace Amounts” Review

Just weeks after “Trace Amounts” was reviewed at The Epoch Times, The Huffington Post removed the below April review of the same documentary for reasons not even specified to the author. No explanation has ever been given for the removal, despite requests. With the recent promotion of “Trace Amounts” by actor Jim Carrey, now is a better time than ever to reproduce the film review that Huffington Post took down for no given reason.

Film Seeks to Compel Parents to Ask Hard Questions about Mercury and Vaccinations

By Tamar Abrams

There are few issues more polarizing these days than vaccines. Merely saying the word forces us to claim a side, often vehemently. Which is why it’s interesting that the filmmakers of Trace Amounts: Austism, Mercury and the Hidden Truth say, “Many people think we are anti-vaccinations. But once they see the film, they realize we are not.” A film that attempts to shine light on the dangers inherent in one component of vaccines without taking a stand against vaccines, Trace Amounts is earnest and geeky at the same time.

The film’s director, Eric Gladen, came to the issue through a personal experience. At the age of 29, he cut himself on a rusty nail and received a tetanus shot in an emergency room. Within a short time, he was seriously ill. He blames the illness on mercury poisoning from the thimerosal contained in the tetanus injection. Quitting his job as an engineer, he embarked on a crusade to get thimerosal removed from all vaccinations and injections. If the comprehensive research that followed had resulted in a film called Trace Amounts: Mercury’s Dangers, you likely wouldn’t be reading this blog. But Gladen’s major theory in the film is that the thimerosal contained in vaccines is a major contributor to the “epidemic” of autism in children.

Shiloh Levine, Gladen’s co-director, acknowledges that most childhood vaccines have not contained thimerosal since the early 2000s, but cautions, “It is still contained in flu shots, but most parents don’t know to ask about it. We want to help them make decisions based on an educated choice, especially since the CDC is not revealing everything they know.” The film is chock full of anti-mercury arguments: scientists and researchers give lots of opinions and statistics that certainly seem to show a strong connection between mercury and autism. And, given that it is possible to request flu vaccines that don’t contain thimerosal, parents might want to err on the side of caution. Of course there is a price for that: thimerosal-free flu shots cost an additional $3 dollars or more.

Gladen admits that for many, the film is initially a lightning rod in the vaccine debate. “Some people come to a screening and are not there with an open mind,” he says. “But after seeing it, they are just mad. It is clear that the CDC and others have severe financial stakes in not giving all the information they have. It is stunning to watch the audience reaction – they leave arguing with the CDC’s position, not ours.”

While Gladen insists he is not anti-vaccinations, he also understands those who take that position. “Anti-vaxxers are not crazy,” he says. “We need to turn the vaccine system upside down and correct the system. Injecting children with mercury is one of the bigger crimes against humanity.” He believes a third party should provide oversight to our nation’s vaccine program, ensuring its safety and accountability by the large pharma manufacturers.

Trace Amounts appears to be gaining followers, driven mostly by an endorsement from Robert F. Kennedy Jr and a grassroots community that is hosting screenings of the film. Gladen and Levine were recently in Washington DC to lobby members of Congress for legislation removing mercury from all medications. While they admit that it is an uphill labor, Levine quickly adds, “This is a labor of love. We live and breathe and eat Trace Amounts.”

Whatever side of the vaccination debate parents are on, we all share the common goal of ensuring our children’s well-being. Spending 90 minutes watching Trace Amounts wouldn’t do any of us any harm and might compel you to ask more questions the next time your child is scheduled to receive a shot.
